Over a year after the BFF character was revealed at the Central Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, rumors started to swirl that KAWS would be releasing a 13-inch vinyl edition of the much loved character. Sure enough, this BFF Vinyl Open Edition in Black released in October, 2017. This black version was available exclusively through KAWSONE, and features and all-black body with a contrasting pink nose and white eyes.

KAWS is releasing all the fan favorite characters for his 2021 TOKYO FIRST art exhibit in Tokyo Japan. The release features two Companion figures, a mini and full sized Chum figure and a BFF figure. The set was released to the public in September 2021. KAWS biggest set to release to date features two brown Companion figures, two white Chum figures and a blue BFF Figure that stands 13.3 inches tall.
