The Mega Drive (メガドライブ Mega Doraibu), also known as the Sega Genesis in North America, was Sega's third console. It was Sega's most successful console, selling over 30 million units worldwide, including more than 20 million in the United States, 8 million in Europe, 3.58 million in Japan, and 3 million in Brazil.
